February 06, 2004Basement WaterproofingWe're in the midst of a big fat rainy day here in the swamps of Joisey ... and days like this bring one topic to mind: basement waterproofing. Let me just say to all those lucky folks that have never experienced the true joy of a flooded basement, you don't know how lucky you are ... Basement waterproofing is both an art and a science. My buddy Tim Carter has a bunch of great basement waterproofing information on his website. The article on Linear French Drains is an eye-opener. If you want a dry basement, keeping the water away from your house's foundation should be a top priority. I've fiddled a good bit in my basement waterproofing efforts over the years. One of the most important steps was to get my sump pump situation straightened out. Tim's article covers all the basics. It's a must read. Posted by geekbooks at February 6, 2004 01:02 PM |
