(More) Storage Shed Plans

Clutter drives me nuts. That's why I'm looking for a new set of shed plans. It's due time to build a small recycling shed. Here's the deal. Recycling is mandatory here in the swamps of Joisey. The county comes by every two weeks to pick up bottles, paper, and cardboard. Two blasted weeks. The stuff just piles up in the garage ... and if you forget to put it out on pickup day, fogettaboutit ... Building a storage shed to house all of that stuff would free up a good bit of space in the garage. Our present garage storage situation is pretty maxed out.

I've been surfing my list of shed plan websites and haven't come up with anything that works, just yet. Most of the plans I've found so far are too short. There's a real need to store the giant rolling garbage can, too.

I've been toying with the idea of drawing my own plans. There's a nice stack of railroad ties sitting behind the garden that are just waiting to be put to good use. If I could come up with a fast way to put them together--either with some simple post and beam joinery or perhaps using these nifty bolts I saw at the lumberyard--I'd go that route in a heartbeat. Going the post and beam route would solve two problems: 1) I'd get rid of that stack of lumber, and 2) I wouldn't have to shell out the clams for a bunch of tubafours.
