How to Make Your Own Gift Wrap

Have you found yourself at the short end of a roll of store-bought wrapping paper? Are you close to the end of your rope as that all-important gift wrapping deadline nears? Or are you just sick of ugly gift wrap and hoping to wrap your gifts in something really special without breaking your budget?

Have I got a geekbooks graphics project for you!

Hang in there! With just a handful of easy steps, you'll soon be cranking out your very own custom gift wrap ...

You're going to need to start with four things:

A computer
Some graphics software
A printer with enough paper and ink, and
A bit of creativity and artwork

You don't need the very latest Mac or fastest PC to create your own artwork. I'm going to use an old iMac for the purposes of this video.

Now it definitely helps to have the right software. You can attempt this with nearly any graphic program. But I'll show you how Adobe Photoshop and a popular plug-in will save time and help take your designs to the next level.

Our color printer went south months ago, so I'm going to print my gift wrap out with my trusty black and white HP Laserjet.

The piece d' resistance is the artwork that we'll be using ...
