An acquaintance of mine happened to be looking for a conference call provider. I’m quite interested in the subject of conference calling as it relates to web conferencing, so when the topic came up in conversation, I tuned in immediately. I was amazed to learn about a company that provides free conference calls. You read it right … free conference calls. I found this to be quite astounding. And honestly, just a bit hard to believe …

The name of the company is Integrated Data Concepts Teleconferencing Services. Their Webby Award-winning website can be found at freeconference.com ... not a bad URL for a company that provides free conference calls, eh?

Apparently, they build their own equipment and offer the free conference calling in the hope that folks might upgrade to their paid plan. (With the free service, callers must dial into a non-toll-free number.)

While I still need to compare Integrated Data Concepts Teleconferencing Services with the other conference call providers, this sounds like a pretty slick idea.

Like Uncle Louie used to say, "compare your apples to apples, not to orangutans."
