Fireworks
Fireworks are illegal here in Joisey, but you wouldn't know that from the number of neighborhood displays. Maybe the cops turn a deaf ear (heh) to most of them. Heck, I'll bet that plenty of cops have launched plenty of their own neighborhood fireworks displays.
As they should. :)
Just another way that Joisey is peculiar. (Why do you think we have a magazine named Weird New Jersey, for Pete's sake.) Sure, fireworks are dangerous, but it's dangerous just living in this freakin' state.
It's about time that fireworks are made legal in the Garden State. Of course, they should tax the daylights out of them, and put half of that tax income into a special fund to help those poor souls that injure themselves.
The town fireworks display was mobbed. The pyrotechnics were nice, as always, but there were so many rude people. Worse than rude, in fact. There is no reason to talk through the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. There were so many talkers that it was impossible to hear the words ... there's no excuse for that, as far as I'm concerned ...
