Garage Kits

Garage kits offer great rewards for backyard builders. When you build using a garage kit, you'll jump start the process and the checkered flag can wave in a fraction of the time it would take when building from scratch. Unfortunately, most garage kit choices are limited to steel buildings of one form or another. There's nothing wrong with a quality steel building kit, of course, but many traditionalists would much rather build with wood.

I need a large garage, should I say, the equivalent of two car: with large overhead door and one walk-in. I've been unable to find kits other than steel and don't want that.

Finding a wood garage kit isn't that difficult if you look in the right place.

The trick, of course, is knowing where the right place is ...

A good number of wooden post and beam barn/garage kits might fit the bill.

Country Carpenters in Hebron, Connecticut and Shelter-Kit in Tilton, New Hampshire, and Sand Creek Post and Beam in Wayne, Nebraska are a few that come to mind.

You might want to find a post and beam shop that's somewhat near your neck of the woods, to hold down the shipping charges and to lend assistance with construction, if necessary.
