IT Outsourcing

Outsourcing -- specifically IT outsourcing -- is quite a hot topic these days. It may have become a campaign issue all of sudden, but the practice has been going on for years.

I don't have a huge problem with the concept of either IT outsourcing or call center outsourcing, as long as the entity sending the work out has the good sense to keep the jobs here in the States. Back in the 90's, I worked for an employer that sent a good bit of work overseas, at the cost of American jobs. The employees here resented the practice, immensely.

It's a sad day in America when you can't buy a pair of Levis that were made here in the land of the free, home of the brave (and unemployed). It's even more sad that folks are losing their jobs, due to overseas call center outsourcing.

First it was the factory jobs. Now it's the white collar jobs. With our borders open, where are all of our new immigrants going to work?

For many reasons, companies that specialize in outsourcing deserve close scrutiny.
