Log Garages
Cory from Canada wrote in looking for information on stained wood garages. He has a log home and would like the garage in a similar style to match. A prefab garages may be an option.
Log garages are a popular option for folks with with log homes. The rustic look of a log garage is the perfect complement to the main house. But the garage needn’t be built from solid logs ... it may be more economical to build a conventional garage covered with log siding. A conventionally built garage with log siding may incur a slight increase over standard siding, but it could turn out to be considerably less expensive than a whole log garage. One downside is the pure aesthetics ... log siding looks quite a bit more finished than whole logs.
Depending on the size, a prefab log garage can be trucked to your site and placed on a prepared concrete slab. This slashes construction time to the minimum.
Height limitations are a drawback of many prefab garages. If you need a good bit of garage height -- and substantial loft storage -- you may find your prefab garage choices to be slim.
