MCSE Boot Camp

I've been thinking about attending a MCSE boot camp. While I'll never have a fancy phd to hang after my name like my old man, I thought it might not hurt to pick up a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) designation. MCSE boot camps seem like the fastest way to make that happen. An exotic location would certainly make it more fun. Who couldn't love the idea of a MCSE boot camp in Hawaii?

Most folks get their MCSE in order to make more money. And so the thinking goes, the faster you pass the tests, the faster you can get yourself into a better position.

MCSE boot camps cram all of the studying and exams into a short period of time--typically two weeks. The idea is that the intense schedule will allow you to learn and get certified away from the distractions of home. The fees usually include all of the books and materials and exams, along with niceties such as meals, snacks, and drinks.

The best training providers will send the course materials ahead of time, so that you can get your feet wet before you hop on the plane. They'll have top-notch instructors that know their stuff and facilities that fully accommodate the intense schedule.

Some MCSE boot camp deals include lodging and may even include airfare. Other deals will come bundled with a laptop that's yours to bring home after the boot camp. There are many interesting arrangements, to be sure.

MCSE boot camps are big ticket programs. The cost can be tough to swallow for a typical Jane or Joe. Corporations, on the other hand, may be eager to have their employees trained as quickly as possible. The costs may not be insurmountable in certain situations. If your company offers to send you away for training, you should give the offer full consideration ... better their dime than yours! ;)
