New 2006 Liverpool Kit

Make room in your collection ... Liverpool's launched a splendid new kit for the 2006 - 2007 campaign. It's goodbye to Reebok and hello Adidas. The new 2006 Liverpool kit features not only those familiar three white stripes on the shoulders, arms, and side of the shorts; a superfluous "teamgeist" logo has been added to the left shirt sleeve as well. Nevertheless, the new collared Liverpool jersey is quite handsome, even with the overabundance of Adidas branding.

The 2006 kit's white stripe theme carries over onto the back of the jersey, where four, count 'em, four white stripes are used for the number font. Player names are printed in a somewhat thin condensed and rounded sans serif font.

Take a gander at an official high-res shot of the jersey.

Bands of Climacool fabric can be found inside the shirt collar and alongside the white piping that winds its way down the front of the torso. The familiar white Carlsberg logo continues front and center, in its place of honor. A faithful rendition of the LFC crest runs over the heart. Authentication and Climacool logos run at the bottom of the shirt where they won't be seen on those good mannered players who do us all the kindness of keeping their shirts tucked into their shorts.

All-in-all this year's Liverpool jersey looks fantastic and should be a tough nut to crack for the knockoff mills. I'm not going to wait. I'm ready to put in my order for an authentic jersey ...
