Predictive Dialer Technology

Predictive dialers can be quite sneaky. Just a moment ago, I was in the house, fixing a cup of tea. (It's a bit cold out in the office today!) The phone rang, and of course, I could not find the portable handset in the kitchen. So I ran off to the northern reaches of el rancho indebto to grab the phone.

When I picked up the phone, there was a momentary pause. A voice came on the line with the message: "We are sorry to disturb you. This message was intended for an answering machine."

Wow. I've never heard a predictive dialing system deliver that type of message.

I admit it. I'm fascinated by predictive dialer technology. I find it simply amazing what telemarketers can do these days. Once I get my current book put to bed, I'm going to set aside some time to learn as much as I can about predictive dialers. But I won't get out of my office chair to do so ...

I'll just sit here and wait for the information to come to me. :)
