August 15, 2006Saltbox Pool Bar Shed Plans?The dog days of August are upon us and no backyard oasis is complete without a pool bar. Or so they say. We're still waiting for our ship to come in and the chance to build a pool. Meanwhile, one of our faithful readers wrote in looking for some shed plans that could be adapted to fit a pool bar. Fred's searching for a 5' or 6' x 10' run-in shed plan to house his pool bar. He's specifically looking for a saltbox design. The dimensions might be a little tricky. Most smaller sheds are based on an 8' design. Six feet doesn't make for much run-in room, unless you have miniature ponies. I took a quick look and couldn't turn up any six foot run-in shed plans, but I did come up with a small four-sided shed that might be adaptable ... While not a run-in shed, Sheldon Design's 8' wide saltbox pole frame shed might be adaptable to pool bar use, with the door opening clear and a side opened up for the bar. These are the things that are best pondered poolside, with a tropical drink and tape measure in hand. A notebook computer and wireless Internet connection can't hurt, either.
