September 02, 2003where did the summer go?It's the day after Labor Day and it's so dark and gloomy here it feels like late October. Everyone's still down the shore, but I'm stuck in the house, trying to get a chapter done while the dogs tear apart my studio. Dogs? Yeah, dogs, as in plural. How this happened, I'll never know. Auntie M shows up with a pair of poopies, as if I ever took those threats seriously ... that the kids really need dogs. DOGS. PLURAL. Well alright, enough of that. I promise not to be a pet blogger. Nothing worse then that ... grown people going on and on about their pets ... as if anyone cares. Sunday night's closing show (10 of 10) at Giants Stadium was a whopper. No special guests, but lots of choice nuggets, starting with Cynthia to open the show. 9 out of 10 fans didn't know WTF Bruce was playing when they opened up. I asked the Meadowlands parking attendant if there was a frequent-flyer discount for parking, like maybe pay for four nights of parking, get the fifth one free. She laughed, but she didn't hook me up. $15 x 5 nights isn't exactly trivial ... ah well, at least we did our part to keep the NJSEA out of red ink. We didn't give the sports authority their cut on the t-shirts, that's for sure. There are much better deals at fanfire. I don't want to see the tour or the summer end. If the band really does play four shows out at Shea to end the tour, we're just nuts enough to make the ride. I mean, Long Island ... what's that after Cleveland and Miami? Nothing! Just a hop, skip, jump, and huge traffic jam away from AC and Philly, that's what. Posted by geekbooks at September 2, 2003 09:04 PM |
